Ballymak enjoys Down Royal win
Favourite-backers in the last race at Down Royal breathed a huge sigh of relief after Ballymak ran out a fortunate winner of the Premier Sports Management INH Flat Race.
Gordon Elliott’s dual point-to-point winner was sent off the 5-4 market leader to make a winning debut under rules but appeared to have his work cut out turning for home.
Milanette and Last Draw looked like battling out the finish but as they hung out towards the stands side, the two of them crashed through a rail with the latter unseating Colm Sharkey.
Ballymak came through to take the race and although Milanette passed the post in second, he was disqualified for taking the wrong course and Do The Bookies was awarded the runner-up prize.
