Market Rasen have called off tomorrow’s card due to snow, meaning Tony McCoy will have to wait even longer in his quest for a 3,000th career winner.

McCoy had been booked for three mounts in Lincolnshire but the wintry weather looks like delaying his memorable feat.

An inspection was called at around 10am this morning for 2pm and clerk of the course Nick Patton was left with no option but to call the meeting off.

“We had our inspection at 2pm but unfortunately we’ve had to abandon,” said Patton.

“Around two inches of snow fell on the track this morning and with further heavy snow forecast, there is little doubt.

“Unfortunately there is no prospect of racing.”
