Fontwell goes ahead

This afternoon's meeting at Fontwell goes ahead as scheduled after the track passed a morning inspection.

Clerk of the course Edward Arkell called an inspection for 8am due to the possibility of frost overnight and while temperatures dipped below freezing, he is happy to give the card the green light.

"We've passed an inspection and we got down to just below minus one and a half overnight," said Arkell.

"The frost covers we had down have done their job brilliantly so we are fine to go ahead."

Nobody will be happier than Tony McCoy who has two rides on the card, both of which will need to be successful if he is to secure the 3,000th winner of his National Hunt career.
