Silver Birch to commence comeback trail at Nenagh
2007 Grand National winner Silver Birch is set to run in a point-to-point at Nenagh on Saturday, at the start of a comeback which will see him back at Aintree in April.
Silver Birch, trained by Gordon Elliot, has been off the track since his National win with a leg problem, and he features amongst a strong Irish entry for this year’s Liverpool spectacular on 4th April.
Willie Mullins trains a total of six entries, while others to catch the eye include last year's runner up King John's Castle from Arthur Moore's stable and Irish National winner Hear the Echo.
In all, the big race has drawn 123 entries with 11 of them from the stable of British Champion trainer Paul Nicholls, headed by Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Denman.
The weights for the big race will be announced on February 10.
