Den Of Iniquity put himself into the reckoning for a second trip to the Cheltenham Festival when making a winning start to his career over obstacles in the Ladbrokes Odds On Card – Loyalty Card Novices´ Hurdle at Folkestone.

Carl Llewellyn’s eight-year-old had been off the track since the 2007 Champion Bumper due to injury but was sent off the 15-8 joint-favourite to score on his first start over timber.

Always up with the pace in the hands of Tom O’Brien, he showed no ill effects from the lengthy absence as he powered clear in the straight to score by 15 lengths from King Brex.

Both Victor Chandler and William Hill introduced him into their betting for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle as a 25-1 chance, while the latter firm make him the same price for the Ballymore Properties Hurdle.
