Second inspection for Kelso

Kelso will have to pass a second inspection at 10.30am if this afternoon’s meeting is to go ahead.

Some areas of the track were still unraceable during an initial check at 8.30am but clerk of the course Anthea Morshead is eager to take another look.

She said: “We’ll have to check again at 10.30 as there are some areas that need some improvement.

“It did drop to minus one last night but the Met Office is forecasting plus four or five so we want to give the meeting every chance.

“The racing line is fine but we might have to miss the last fence and the cross hurdle – there are things we can do.”
