Somerset for Lingfield

Red Somerset could make a quick reappearance at Lingfield on Saturday following his victory at Great Leighs on Monday.

The Ron Hodges-trained gelding is pencilled in for the William Hill January Sale – 0800 44 40 40 Conditions Stakes after making it two wins and a second from three runs in December with victory by three-quarters of a length in a mile handicap.

“He seems fine and he’s likely to be declared tomorrow for Saturday,” said Hodges’ wife, Amanda.

“He did very well the other day and as far as I know he will turn out again.”
