This afternoon’s meeting at Leopardstown will have to pass a precautionary inspection at 9am if it is to go ahead.

The meeting, which is set to feature the Leopardstown Golf Centre December Festival Hurdle, is under threat after an overnight frost.

Irish Turf Club spokesman Cliff Noone said: “There was an overnight frost and it was harder than they expected.

“They will inspect at 9am and they are hopeful but they just wanted to keep everyone informed.”
