Soleil takes Finale test

A string of possible Triumph Hurdle contenders will put their reputations on the line in tomorrow’s Coral Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow.

Paul Nicholls’ Pepite De Soleil, a Listed winner at Auteuil, made quite an impression when cantering home over 50 lengths clear on her British bow at Wincanton earlier in the month and she has a useful 7lb sex allowance tomorrow.

Evan Williams holds a strong hand in the Grade One event with three of the 10 runners including his impressive Cheltenham winner Simarian, two-time winner over hurdles Akarshan and Tayarat, who has placed in both his hurdle starts to date.

Just Rob and Indian Groom, first and third at Sandown earlier in the month, clash again while Nicky Henderson’s Giorgio Quercus takes his chance.

Alan King’s Walkon ran well behind Triumph favourite Zaynar a race at Newbury recently with Reve De Sivola and Seconditis completing the 10-runner line-up.
