Wetherby to have early inspection

Tomorrow’s meeting at Wetherby is subject to an 8am precautionary inspection due to the threat of frost.

Racing takes place today at the West Yorkshire venue but with an overnight forecast that ranges from zero degrees to as low as minus three, clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson has decided to err on the side of caution.

“If we weren’t racing today we probably wouldn’t have a problem but the ground is likely to open up,” said Sanderson.

“We are forecast anything between zero and minus three. Obviously at zero or minus one we wouldn’t have a problem but I thought it best to just let people know the situation early.”
