Massini’s Maguire could next be seen in action in the Nigel Clark Feltham Novices’ Chase over Christmas.

Trainer Philip Hobbs and owner Alan Peterson have always held their gelding in the highest regard and were rewarded when he won the Ballymore Properties Novices’ Hurdle in 2007.

Injury intervened and he missed the whole of last season, only returning at Ascot last month to make a successful debut over fences.

“We’re very pleased with him, and the plan is to run at Kempton on Boxing Day,” said Peterson.

The owner’s silks have been seen to winning effect on several occasions by Fair Along, who has recently entered the picture for the Ladbrokes World Hurdle.

Peterson added: “With him, we are looking to run in the Cleeve Hurdle at Cheltenham.”
