Snoopy Loopy on King George trail
Peter Bowen has confirmed his intention to supplement Snoopy Loopy for the Stan James King George VI Chase following the gelding’s gutsy performance at Huntingdon.
Connections needed no further persuasion to stump up £10,000 to add the hardy 10-year-old to the field for Kempton’s St Stephen's Day feature at the confirmation stage on December 19.
Snoopy Loopy failed by just half-a-length to give Monet’s Garden 4lb in the Peterborough Chase when attempting to make virtually all the running.
“He’s come out of it very well, he’s fine,” said Bowen.
“We were over the moon with him especially over two and a half miles on a sharp track.
“At least we now know he’ll handle a similar course in the King George.”
“We’ll supplement him and he’ll definitely go for that now and he’ll keep the blinkers on.”
Snoopy Loopy, who currently leads the BHA Order of Merit table, is a 20-1 chance with the sponsors for the King George.
