Lingfield set for inspection

Lingfield will assess conditions at 8am on Saturday morning ahead of their meeting on the same day.

Clerk of the course Neil MacKenzie Ross will stage a precautionary inspection as the track is currently frozen.

He said: “We hit minus-five degrees overnight but temperatures are due to rise during the day.

“There is, however, quite a possibility of heavy substantial rain during the night.

“In view of the forecast, we are pretty much in the lap of the gods. It’s going to be a case of how much (rain) and when we get it.”
