Trabolgan pencilled in for Ascot
Trabolgan is set to have his first outing since winning the 2005 Hennessy Gold Cup when he tackles handicap company at Ascot on December 20.
Trainer Nicky Henderson has entered the 10-year-old in next week’s totesport.com Peterborough Chase at the six-day stage but is instead favouring the BGC Silver Cup later in the month.
The trainer said: “He is in the Peterborough but I have found a nice open handicap at Ascot in a couple of weeks, and he is more likely to go there.
“The handicapper has left him on a mark of 151. When they have been off for such a long time they often get a bit of help, and that is the mark he won the Hennessy off.
“I think three miles at Ascot will be a nice place to start him off, and he worked well this morning.”
