Frozen Ayr to be inspected

Ayr’s meeting on Wednesday is under threat as part of the track is frozen.

Course officials have called an inspection for 1pm on Tuesday as the track has been hit by freezing temperatures recently.

Clerk of the course Katherine Self said: “The going remains good to soft, good in places with the track frozen.

“The temperature fell to minus four degrees overnight and rose to plus three degrees today but is forecast to fall to minus three before midnight tonight.”
