Snoopy on course for Christmas cracker
Snoopy Loopy is set to be supplemented for the Stan James King George VI Chase after finishing a creditable third in the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury yesterday.
Connections of the Peter Bowen-trained 10-year-old are keen to add the gelding to the field for the Kempton feature on Boxing Day at the confirmation stage on December 20, at a cost of £10,000.
“He’s come out of the race fine and he’ll go for the King George now,” said the Haverfordwest-based handler.
Snoopy Loopy currently leads the British Horseracing Authority Order Of Merit and picked up some vital points in his bid to land then £200,000 prize.
“Those points might come in handy later on when we may be struggling,” added Bowen.
Snoopy Loopy is 20-1 for the King George with the sponsors.
