No problems at Aintree
This afternoon’s Becher Chase meeting at Aintree will go ahead as planned as the course escaped the forecast snow.
Some weather forecasts had indicated that the Merseyside area may by hit by snow overnight but clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch revealed that none fell at the home of the Grand National.
“We had no snow – luckily,” said Tulloch.
“It started raining just before 4am and that is due to blow out around 9am so the ground is going to ease.
“It got down to about 0.5 degrees overnight but the inspection was purely precautionary.”
