Trafford set for Drinmore test

Eamon Sheehy believes Trafford Lad’s success at Punchestown on Saturday will stand him in good stead for his next target.

The six-year-old is now unbeaten in two runs over fences and will bid to complete the hat-trick in the Bar-One Racing Drinmore Chase at Fairyhouse on November 30.

“He’s absolutely great, he’s 100%,” said the Kilkenny trainer.

“Everything that could go wrong did go wrong and he still won and had plenty left in hand. That was a big plus with everything else so we’re happy.

“The Drinmore is definitely his target and that little bit of experience he gained should be a big benefit to him there.”

Trafford Lad is a best-priced 20-1 with Coral for the Royal & SunAlliance Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
