Sir Harry is Fairyhouse doubt
Eoin Griffin’s smart novice hurdler Academy Sir Harry is only 50-50 to line up in his next intended target, the Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novices Hurdle at Fairyhouse on November 30.
The six-year-old suffered a cut during his victory in the Grade Three “For Auction” Novice Hurdle at Navan earlier in the month.
Griffin had hoped it was only superficial but it is taking longer than anticipated to heal.
“Academy Sir Harry picked up a nasty cut the other day,” said Griffin.
“At the time I thought it was insignificant but it’s pretty sore still so I’d say he is only 50-50 for the Royal Bond now.
“He’ll only be ridden out for the next few days and we’ll make a decision early the following week.
“Ideally I’d like to run him in it but if he doesn’t make it, he’ll go for the Barry And Sandra Kelly Memorial at Navan (on December 14).”
