Ruby Walsh sidelined with injury
Ruby Walsh is facing a spell on the sidelines after rupturing his spleen in a fall at Cheltenham on Saturday.
The jockey was taken to Cheltenham General Hospital after suffering a kick in stomach when Pride Of Dulcote fell at the second-last flight in the Cleanevent Handicap Hurdle.
Walsh’s father, Ted, told the Racing Post: “Ruby is having an operation tonight for a ruptured spleen.”
Walsh had a full book of rides on Sunday’s final day of the Open Meeting, including leading Arkle contender Tatenen in the Independent Newspaper Novices’ Chase.
