Further inspection at Lingfield

Tuesday's meeting at Lingfield will have to pass a second inspection at 7.30am if it is to be given the go-ahead.

Clerk of the course Neil Mackenzie Ross initially called an inspection for 4pm today due to an adverse weather forecast and although the track has been hit with a substantial amount of rain, he feels it would be premature to call the meeting off.

"We are going to have another look in the morning at 7.30am. We have had 15 millimetres of rain but that is not as much as was forecast," said Mackenzie Ross.

"There is further rain due this evening but it is supposed to stop during the night and we are raceable at the moment.

"We might have to omit a fence or two and move some rails but we will see."
