Waterlogged Rasen off

This afternoon’s National Hunt meeting at Market Rasen has been abandoned due to waterlogging.

Officials at the Lincolnshire venue were left with no choice but to draw stumps upon inspecting the track this morning.

Clerk of the course Nick Patton said: “We’ve had 14mm of overnight rain and 61mm of rain in the last week.

“It’s bitterly disappointing but it was a pretty clear-cut decision as, when we got to the track, parts of the winner’s enclose were flooded.”
