Cork All Star set for Down Royal return

Former Champion Bumper hero Cork All Star is set to make his return over obstacles in the Grade Three Anglo Irish Bank Hurdle at Down Royal on Friday.

The six-year-old made a winning debut over hurdles at Fairyhouse last October and although failing to live up to expectations at the highest level later in the season, he was still placed a number of times in hot company.

A spin on the level at Listowel last month blew away the cobwebs and Harrington has been delighted with his subsequent progress.

“Cork All Star worked this morning and everything went very well so, all being well, he will head to Down Royal on Friday,” said Harrington.

“I think the ground is soft there at the moment and he might not want it too testing – but he is going to have to run on it so we will take what we get.

“We were very pleased with his run at Listowel on what was very gluey ground, so we will just see what happens.”
