Smart sprinter Corrybrough, fourth to African Rose in the Ladbrokes Sprint Cup at Doncaster last time after a rapid rise through the sprinting ranks, will not run again this campaign.

Trainer Henry Candy was preparing the three-year-old for last weekend’s Prix de l’Abbaye but decided not to take him to Longchamp.

Candy said: “I’ve scoped him and he’s as clear as can be, but we have decided to finish him for the season. He’s absolutely fine but is a late-developing sort and will be better next year.”
