Swan duo bidding for National glory
Charlie Swan hopes being out of the handicap will not prevent Royal Man and Gripit N Tipit from putting up good performances in the ladbrokes.com Munster National at Limerick on Sunday.
Royal Man is 7lb wrong in the three-mile feature while Gripit N Tipit has 8lb more to carry.
However, the County Tipperary trainer believes a combination of testing conditions and the services of 3lb claimers Denis Hogan and Lenny Flynn could lessen the disadvantage.
"Obviously being out of the handicap is a worry but when the ground is very heavy class goes out of the window sometimes," said Swan.
"I've booked two 3lb claimers and they are both very good riders.
"Gripit N Tipit ran in a hurdle race at Listowel three weeks ago. He's in good form so hopefully he'll go well.
"Royal Man has not run since the Kim Muir at Cheltenham. He might just need the run, but hopefully he'll run all right."
The classy Mister Top Notch heads a 13-strong field on 11st 10lb while Ponmeoath and Oulart renew rivalry after finishing first and second respectively in the Kerry National at Listowel last month.
