Nadover checks in for Pardubicka

Charlie Mann is once again targeting the Velka Pardubicka in the Czech Republic on Sunday – this year with Nadover.

The famous steeplechase, which sees the field take in stone walls, ploughed fields and huge ditches, is close to Mann's heart as he trained and rode It's A Snip to victory in 1995 and often has runners in the event.

Mann feels he has an outstanding chance with Nadover, who was last seen finishing seventh behind Comply Or Die in the Grand National.

"I've sent three over this year – Nadover, Flight Command and Poseidon's Secret," said Mann.

"Nadover runs in the Pardubicka, Flight Command in the two-mile-six chase and Poseidon's Secret in the two-and-a-half-mile hurdle.

"We've got a good record in the Pardubicka. We've been first, second and fourth but we've got a good horse this year – he's the highest-rated horse we've ever taken out there.

"He's been round a few cross-country courses and he's been pretty good so far.

"He ran a very good race in the National, he brought home some prize-money and I think he'll run a big race.

"Noel Fehily will ride him. He's going out on Thursday to school him on Friday. Then he flies back for racing here on Saturday and flies out again Saturday evening."
