Chintz takes Weld Park Stakes
Chintz (6-1) added to trainer David Wachman's fine team of juveniles as she pulled nicely clear in the Group Three C.L Weld Park Stakes.
Despite a couple of second places since her maiden victory, neither performance was a great disgrace and she benefited from a cheeky ride from Seamus Heffernan.
They burst clear approaching the furlong marker and had enough of an advantage to deprive Mick Channon’s Lahaleeb, who appeared to hang in the closing stages but was a deserved second.
Chintz was quoted at 33s and 25-1 for the 1000 Guineas by VC Bet and William Hill respectively.
