Spacious seeking Sun Chariot success
Spacious looks to have confirmed her place in next Saturday’s Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes after a satisfactory workout in Newmarket over the weekend
James Fanshawe’s filly started the season well with second in the 1000 Guineas and fourth in the Coronation Stakes but she was off the track for nearly three months after Royal Ascot.
She only scraped home on her belated reappearance in a conditions race on soft ground at the Doncaster St Leger meeting but that event was intended to tee her up for better things.
Chris Richardson, managing director of owners the Cheveley Park Stud, said: “Spacious worked on Saturday morning and it went well.
“All being well the plan is to look at the Sun Chariot at Newmarket this weekend before we put her away for the rest of the year.”
