River Proud is to travel to France rather than Scotland for his next engagement on Saturday.

Paul Cole’s three-year-old goes for the Group Three Prix du Prince d’Orange at Longchamp where he will be ridden by Olivier Peslier.

His other entry was in the Alphabet Supplies Doonside Cup at Ayr but connections have favoured a trip across the Channel.

“He’s very well in himself, he’s 100% and should run a good race,” said Cole’s son and assistant, Oliver.

River Proud, a smooth winner of a Listed race at Glorious Goodwood, has already made two visits to France this season, finishing third in the French 2000 Guineas and being runner-up in a Group Two contest at Deauville four weeks ago.
