Thumbs-up for Lingfield
Tuesday’s turf races at Lingfield have been given the all-clear after course officials staged a successful precautionary inspection.
Three of the seven races on the card were under a cloud due to the recent wet spell which afflicted most of Britain.
Conditions have improved markedly, however, enabling clerk of the course Neil MacKenzie Ross to deliver a positive assessment at 8am.
“The turf races will remain on the card after a dry night,” he confirmed.
“We still have heavy ground, but the rain on Tuesday looks minimal and should not hit us hard.”
The other four races on the card will be competed on Lingfield’s all-weather surface, as was originally scheduled.
