Second inspection at Newton Abbot

Newton Abbot have called a second precautionary inspection for 7am ahead of Tuesday’s meeting.

Officials checked the track on Monday afternoon after heavy rain over the weekend but clerk of the course Jason Loosemore reports conditions as fit to race.

He said: “We are raceable at present and the ground is soft, heavy in places at 4pm.

“There’s a likelihood of further rain between now and tomorrow morning so we will check again at 7am.

“It is just a precaution as although we are forecast rain, it is only light showers.”
