Splinter spikes Haydock foes

Splinter Cell made a seamless transition up to a mile by winning the Paul Sculthorpe Testimonial Maiden Auction Stakes at Haydock.

The Marco Botti-trained colt, sent off the 3-1 joint-favourite, turned in an encouraging display over seven furlongs on his debut at Leicester and clearly thrived over this longer trip.
