Flower blooms for Hills

Faraway Flower created a favourable impression on her debut when running away with the EBF Society Lifestyle And Leisure Magazine Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Doncaster.

The Barry Hills-trained filly travelled nicely behind the leaders under the trainer’s son Michael, before giving her the office two furlongs out.

The response was immediate as she pulled clear and though Moonlight Affair gave chase, it was all in vain as the 9-4 chance ran on well to record a two-and-a-half-length verdict.

Travelling head lad Ian Willder said: “She was always going to win from two furlongs out. Michael said she did it really nicely and was pricking her ears a bit at the end.

“We haven’t got any big plans, we’ll just wait until Barry gets her home and sees how she is. She’s still got a frame to fill.

“It was just nice to get a good run into her.”
