Dhar under Chipchase consideration
Dhaular Dhar could bid for Group Three success in the Journal Chipchase Stakes at Newcastle on Saturday following his brave effort at Royal Ascot.
Trainer Jim Goldie reports his smart handicapper to be in fine form after only being beaten half a length by Regal Parade in the 28-runner Buckingham Palace Stakes on Friday.
“We’ll have a good look at it and it might depend on what else is turning up. He’s in the typical twilight zone at the moment, rated 99,” said the Glasgow-based handler.
“I’m quite sure he could run a big race in it, but there’s also the Bunbury Cup and the totesport International coming up and they are big handicaps that he can have a go at.
“We’ll just play it by ear. He may have a go, I’ll just see – sometimes the Chipchase is a weak Group Three.”
