Group ones beckon for Gloria
Princess Elizabeth Stakes winner Lady Gloria is likely to chance her arm in Group One company when the going eases.
James Givenâs filly won her Group Three at Epsom earlier in the month, and with suitable options now relatively scant, she will have to take on the big guns.
âThe Falmouth is a possibility but we would require rain for her to run at Newmarket,â said Given.
âHer one bad run last season came on quick ground and thatâs why we didnât make any entries for her at Royal Ascot this week.
âShe came out of the race at Epsom very well but with the ground important, I wouldnât be surprised if we didnât see her for a couple of months.
âSheâs in a Hamburg Group Three coming up but itâs probably going to be too firm there and we will give her entries in the Nassau and Matron Stakes and keep an eye on things.
âWe have to jump to Group One races if we stay in filliesâ races as thereâs only one Group Two open to her in the UK now and thatâs the Blandford at the Curragh in September.
âWeâre not sure if sheâs a Group One filly but she is improving and wonât just be turning up to make up the numbers rated 106.â
