Murphy and Lavelle exonerated
Timmy Murphy and Emma Lavelle have been cleared of any blame relating to the running and riding of Regal Quote at Sandown earlier this year.
After the gelding finished a distant 10th in the Allied Irish Bank Private Banking “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle on February 22, the stewards on duty held an inquiry but took no further action.
However, following discussion, the British Horseracing Authority exercised its power and elected to hold another inquiry earlier this month.
However, having reconsidered the ride Murphy gave his mount and the instructions given to him by Lavelle, a disciplinary panel found the pair not in breach of the ’non-trier’ rules.
