Sixties Icon returns to the track after a near 10-month absence as he seeks back-to-back successes in Sunday’s stanjamesuk.com Jockey Club Stakes.
Jeremy Noseda’s 2006 St Leger winner ran out an impressive victor of Newmarket’s 12-furlong Group Two event last season before disappointing in two subsequent appearances.
Connections believe the son of Galileo is now firing on all cylinders once more but will wait until seeing him in action before assigning future targets.
Noseda said: “I have been happy with Sixties Icon’s preparations for the race.
“This is the acid test as to whether we’ve got over the problems that ailed him last year.
“We will find out a lot from this race as to what the future holds,” he told www.jeremynoseda.com.
Sixties Icon will face nine rivals at the weekend, including Andre Fabre’s Getaway and the Henry Cecil-trained Tranquil Tiger.
