Street takes Palace chance

Eve Johnson Houghton feels running over the minimum trip gives Judd Street the best possible chance of toppling Sakhee’s Secret in Sunday’s Stan James 08000 383384 Palace House Stakes at Newmarket.

It will be the first time the July Cup winner Sakhee’s Secret has dropped down to five furlongs in his life as he makes his seasonal reappearance.

Johnson Houghton’s gelding is also having his first start since last October, when he scored over course and distance in the Rous Stakes.

She told her stable website: “Judd Street is running in the Palace House Stakes on Sunday.

“He is taking on Sakhee’s Secret, however, I would like to think we are better over five furlongs and he is better over six. We shall see.

“He is also in great form, but would prefer better ground.”
