Stride given Guineas green light

Perfect Stride has been given the go-ahead to contest the stanjamesuk.com 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday.

Trained by Michael Stoute, the son of Oasis Dream was forced to miss his intended prep run in the Craven after sustaining a minor injury.

However, he pleased connections when working on Monday and is likely to enjoy another light piece of exercise on Thursday before all roads lead to Headquarters.

Rabbah Bloodstock’s racing director, Bruce Raymond, said of the Saeed Suhail-owned colt: “Perfect Stride is on course to run in the Guineas.

“He banged a hock just before the Craven but there was only a minor strain.

“Sir Michael and his team seem to have sorted it out very well,” he told www.rabbahbloodstock.co.uk.

“Of course he did miss a race and had to have a few days off, but Stoute would not be running him if he wasn’t entirely happy with him.

“He worked nicely on Monday and will probably breeze tomorrow.”
