Fr Dominic handed Craven target

Fr Dominic is set to skip a Listed option at Kempton on Saturday as Ralph Beckett targets the unbeaten colt at the banshahousestables.com Craven Stakes at Newmarket next week.

The youngster holds an entry in this weekend’s oddschecker.com Easter Stakes but a minor hiccup means he will now be prepared for a run at Headquarters.

Beckett said: “He’s likely to wait for the Craven rather than running on Saturday.

“We’ve just had a minor issue with him and he won’t be able to run in the Easter Stakes.

“He’s a big, tall, scopey sort of a horse and I imagine he will progress throughout the year and I’d hope he would come on from when he won last year.

“I’ll soon find out what I’ve got in the Craven. We’ll see how he gets on and I imagine the way he runs there will dictate where we go with him.”
