Sedgefield gets green light
This afternoon’s National Hunt meeting at Sedgefield was given the green light after passing a second inspection.
An original check was held at 8.30am by clerk of the course Charlie Moore and his team after a very cold night in the north-east.
And despite being unable to give the meeting the go ahead at that early stage, they were very hopeful.
Blue skies were prevalent and the ground was thawing out all the time so Moore called a second check for 10am.
But by 9.45am conditions had improved enough to enable the meeting to go ahead as planned.
“Racing goes ahead,” declared Moore.
“The going is good, good to firm in places on the chase course and it is good to firm all over on the hurdle course.”
