Huntingdon given go-ahead

This afternoon’s meeting at Huntingdon goes ahead after officials were able to scrap plans for an 8am inspection.

Clerk of the course Fiona Needham had been somewhat concerned on Sunday, with temperatures forecast to drop as low as minus three degrees overnight.

However, after a much milder night, she was able to make a positive decision ahead of time.

Needham said: “Temperatures only got to half a degree below freezing last night, so we have no problems here. The going is soft and good to soft in places.”
