Ayr inspect

Ayr officials will inspect the course at 7am tomorrow morning before giving Saturday’s card the go-ahead.

Although the Scottish venue has been passed fit to race on Friday, the track sustained 13 millimetres of overnight rain.

And with more heavy rain forecast, clerk of the course Katherine Self is taking no chances.

She said: “It is heavy ground and we are forecast rain all day today.

“There is also a forecast of anything between 10 to 15 millimetres or rainfall through the night and on Saturday.

“If we did not call an inspection we would be kidding ourselves.”
