Fontwell take a look

Fontwell’s meeting on Wednesday hinges on a 7am precautionary inspection.

Officials at the West Sussex venue will assess the track in the morning because of the threat of frost.

Clerk of the course Ed Arkell said: “We are due to get down to minus-four degrees overnight, but it is looking like we could be plus-eight degrees by the late morning, with sunshine.

“Frost-covers are down in the take-off and landing sites, as well as other vulnerable areas.

“At this stage we are cautiously optimistic.”
