Ringing endorsement for boss
Philip Hobbs is convinced inexperience over fences will not be detrimental to the chance of Ring The Boss in the Arkle on Tuesday week.
The seven-year-old is prominent in the markets for the Irish Independent-sponsored heat at Cheltenham after finishing second on his fencing debut in the Kingmaker.
âHis run at Warwick when he was second was very, very pleasing,â Hobbs told At The Races.
âWe took the view that if he won something like the Arkle weâd be delighted but if he didnât win a novice chase this season, heâll still be novice next season.
âWell Chief won the Arkle on his second chase start to itâs possible.
âHe (Ring The Boss) is a good, strong horse who jumps well.â
Ring The Boss has been the subject of ante-post support for the Arkle in recent days and is now as low as 11-1.
