Navan on Time Electric agenda
Time Electric will take the next step in his promising career at Navan on Saturday as Tom Mullins prepares him for a crack at the Punchestown Festival.
The six-year-old jumped to the head of the ante-post lists for Cheltenham’s Champion Bumper after making a winning debut at Leopardstown in December, but connections have elected to bypass a trip to Prestbury Park.
“He’s very likely to go to Navan at the moment. I don’t want to wrap him in cotton wool, that’s for sure,” said Mullins.
“He’s in good nick and we’d like to have a go in Navan. Obviously we’ll try to do our best in keeping him in good shape for Punchestown and he’s in really good form now.
“Punchestown is eight weeks away and so much can happen in that time so while he’s good and healthy we’ll kick on.
“I had him in at Naas before we decided to miss Cheltenham, as I thought he might not know enough, but I galloped him during the week and he knows plenty now.”
