Plumpton success for Poulton

Jamie Poulton sent out what could be his final winner from Whitcombe as Sweetheart stamped her class on the Southern FM Juvenile Novices' Hurdle at Plumpton.

After spending eight months in the West Country, the trainer has been forced to move back to Sussex due to a lack of support and will transfer his string on Friday.

Ahead of the change of base, his course-and-distance-winning filly built on her fourth place in the Tolworth Hurdle to oblige from the front at odds of 9-4.

Poulton said: "I didn't get the support from the local owners in Whitcombe and it will be nice to get back to what I know in Sussex."

He added of the five-length winner: "I don't think it was class that got her beat last time, it was just inexperience.

"She is tough and that was a good performance from the filly. She dominated the race and has defied the penalty well, but I'm not sure where we'll go from here."
