Hanley wins at Leipzig
Cameron Hanley notched up Ireland's first international show jumping win of 2008 when he took first place in the opening competition at the World Cup show in Leipzig, Germany today.
Mayo-born Hanley, who rides for the Turkish S-Equestrian Centre in Istanbul, piloted the 10 year-old bay 'SIEC Royal Star' across the line at Leipzig just over half a second faster than German runner-up Andre Thieme, in a huge field of 103 starters.
