Lingfield meeting makes Folkestone switch
Monday’s meeting at Lingfield has been switched to Folkestone.
Prospects of racing at the former venue were slim and Neil Mackenzie-Ross, who is clerk at both courses, felt it prudent to make the transfer.
Although Tuesday’s meeting at Folkestone was abandoned, Mackenzie-Ross believes that venue is more likely to be raceable.
“We had 46 millimetres yesterday on top of an already waterlogged track which meant we had no chance whatsoever for Monday,” said Mackenzie-Ross.
“We are just about back raceable at Folkestone and the forecast is just for bits and pieces of rain through to Monday.
“Now we are back in a raceable position, we should be able to soak up what is forecast. Hopefully we will be racing and we wouldn’t have been at Lingfield, we can safely say that.
“The card moves over and there will be slight alterations to distances as we don’t have the same starts.
“The races will be reopened tomorrow so all the old entries are discarded.
“They will now enter tomorrow and declarations will be made on Sunday as normal.”
