Jack bids for Punchestown honours

Useful juvenile hurdler Paco Jack may have his final start of the campaign at Punchestown on Saturday.

Joe Crowley’s youngster has been on the go since last April and was just a little short of pace to be competitive in the Durkan New Homes Juvenile Hurdle on his latest appearance.

Paco Jack’s team are now aiming for a first Graded victory in the Punchestown Juvenile Hurdle.

Crowley’s assistant, Damien Byrne, said: “He’ll definitely run.

“He ended up being positioned a lot further back than we had wanted to be last time.

“He’s not a Cheltenham horse, so he will run here and then have a break.

“This looked an attractive race for him after the run at Christmas and this could possibly be it for the season as we think he is a two-and-a-half-mile horse in the future.”
